1. Express Avenue Mall
This is one of the bigger malls in Chennai and stocks over 220 international and local brands as it has a kid’s zone, movie theatre (they also have a 5D theatre here) as well as department stores. Some of the big brands you can find here include Levis, H&M, Forever 21, Raymond, Lifestyle and lots more.
There food court is also a happening hang out spot and offers eating options such as Burger King, Chilli’s, Subway and more. It open from 10.30 am to 9.30 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 10 pm on weekends, when it can get quite packed.

2. Forum Vijaya Mall
This popular shopping mall is located in Vadapalani, Chennai. It is spread over 6,36,000 square feet and offers over 100 brands. Thanks to its space, you can visit at any time and not really feel the crowd. They have a very good cinema here called the Palazzo theatre that is a pretty high end and offers a good movie experience.
Some of the brands available here include Marks & Spencer, Westside, Adidas, Arrow, and Bata. There is a good food court with a lot of local eateries dishing out tasty snacks. If you’re in Chennai for a visit, the Vadapalani temple is nearby and worth a visit.

3. Chennai Citi Centre Mall
This is one of the older malls in Chennai opening back in 2006. This is a great place for the whole family as it offers a mix of entertainment, shopping destinations as well as good play options for children. It’s an impressive structure and is well located to other tourist destinations such as Marina Beach, Kapaleeswarar temple, and Santhome Basilica, making this mall a good place to visit after some sightseeing.

4. Abirami Mega Mall
This is a popular place for moviegoers as it has a lot of shows through the day. It doesn’t have a large number of brands as the mall is quite old. Although it is not as big as the other malls in Chennai they have a lot of activities through the week including spot games and weekly contests.
There a lot of food options here, in fact more than the stores, so it’s a good place to grab a bite with friends as the prices are reasonable. The mall opens at 10 am and shuts at 11 pm.

5. Spencer Plaza
Spread over 530,000 square feet, Spencer Plaza is the 11th largest mall in the country. Fun fact: It was originally built during the British Raj and reconstructed in 1985 on the site of the original Spencer’s department store. Here you will find a host of stores including a massive Westside, Nike, Adidas, Bata, Regal, Health & Glow, Vummidiars, Van Heusen and lots more.
There is also a decent selection of stores that offer electronic goods. You will find reasonable food options here too. While it is not as well maintained as it used to be, it is still a nice place for window shopping.

6. Phoenix Marketcity
With a sleek modern interior, a range of stores and food options and a whopping 11-screen multiplex, Phoenix Marketcity is considered the best mall in Chennai. Here you will be treated to high street fashion brands such as Zara, Only, Diesel, Ed Hardy and Aldo, among others.
Makeup brands include Faces, Clinique and lots more. And the food offerings are as good with all the fast food favourites such as Burger King and Dominoes as well as a lot of dessert options. It’s a superb place to spend the day.

7. Bergamo – Luxury Mall
This mall that is named after an Italian city transports you into Europe when you step through its doors. The mall itself is beautiful as it is spread over 40,000 sq ft and includes black marble slabs and crystal chandeliers as part of its stylish décor.
The stores are equally plush with high-end brands such as Lladro and Harman Kardon. This mall doesn’t get too packed even on weekends as the stores are quite exclusive. There are not too many food options but you will find a Starbucks here. The mall opens at 10.30 am and closes quite early at 8.30 pm.

8. Ampa Skywalk
This is a popular mall to visit in Chennai as it has a number of major clothing and apparel brands, a seven-screen multiplex, a games zone and a food court. Located on Poonamallee High Road, there is ample parking here.
You can check out stores such as Marks & Spencer, The Body Shop, Naidu Hall for reasonably priced clothes and stores like Nikon. There is a large food court that is also a popular hangout spot and here you will find eateries such as Pizza Hut, KFC, Café Coffee Day and more.

This mall was formerly known as the Grand Venus mall and is located in Perambur. One of the main attractions at this mall is the large Big Bazaar.
This is a good mall to get a bit too as they have a lot of cuisines on offer such as Indian, Chinese, kebabs, pizzas, desserts and more. There is also S2 cinemas and a great fun and entertainment zone for children. Spectrum Mall is a good place for the entire family.

10. Ispahani Center
This mall is located on the Nungambakkam High Road and it has a lot more to offer than just shopping. Do stop by the fun and unique Dhaba Estd 1986 Delhi where they even have a truck.
Here you will also find one of the country’s biggest gaming cafes called Arknemesis Gaming. If you’re a keen gamer, this should be on your list of places to visit for cosplay events and high-end gaming equipment. They also have a salon and cheap eating options.

11. Chandra Metro Mall
This mall doesn’t have a large selection of stores or eateries but it is worth a visit for its Dmart store, gaming zones and entertainment options such as their much visited movie theatre that shows the latest movies. There is also snooker and bowling on offer. The mall is open from 10 am to 10 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 10 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
