Gangtok

Capital of Sikkim and a beautiful city in Sikkim, Gangtok is an extremely alluring locale situated in north-east India. Apart from a panoramic view of the lush green landscape, Gangtok also offers a scintillating and rib-tickling view of the Mt Kanchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world! The city is soaked in Buddhist culture and customs which is evident from the numerous monasteries like Rumtek Monastery, Phodong Monastery etc located here. Gangtok is also famous for its close proximity to one of the world's highest motorable passes - Nathu La Pass - that connects India to China's Tibet. There are a number of places to visit in Gangtok that range from serene lakes, gurgling waterfalls to tranquil monasteries present here. Although the best time to visit Gangtok is from October to mid-December, one can head to this place all through the year for rejuvenating holiday!
