Mangalore, now officially called Mangaluru, is located on the Konkan coast and is known as the gateway to Karnataka. It is the biggest port city in the state and the 8th largest in the country in terms of cargo shipping. The city is lovingly called Kudla, Mangalooru, and Kodiyala, among many other nicknames. The city is considered one of the most cosmopolitan non-metro cities with the large number of communities living together in harmony. It is easily one of the fastest developing cities in India, with a large number of multinational and domestic companies opening branches in the city. In addition to this the city is also known as the ‘cradle of education’ in the state, thanks to the numbers of reputed institutions here, including NITK, Surathkal and Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT).

Mangalorean cuisine is highly influenced by South Indian cuisine, with delicacies here containing plenty of spices and coconut. A few delicious delicacies to try are neer dosa, pundi, kori roti, pulimunchi, ghee roast, chicken sukka, and many others. A number of Mangalore hotels boast an in-house restaurant if you wish to try food here. To shop from some of the best brands, swing by one of the many malls, including City Centre Shopping Mall, Lotus Mall or Bharath Mall. Excellent staffs and well maintained property
“The staffs were very courteous and kind. They handled us very well. Rooms were also well maintained and we liked them. Location was away from the city. Restaurant was not good, as is not part of the hotel.“

Decent place, good location
“Right at the city center, this is a good place for short trips. Neat and tidy rooms and linens. The staff is friendly and cooperative. I forgot my iPhone charger and called them after 36 hours of checkout, but the reception had kept it safely. They take care of you: the taxi was bang on time when I “ was leaving, they promptly replied on my mail confirming my booking... These are nice little gestures. Only cons I would say - 1. one needs to go out for meals; not good if you are tired after a day's work, (tea kettle in room is provided so you don't have to go out for tea). One can order from the room and they can get for you, but it takes time. There are plenty of outlets nearby to eat. 2. Complimentary breakfast at 5th floor is slightly less than expected - butter/Jam toasts, juices, idli/upma (any one) with sambhar and chutney, soft sweet local buns, eggs on order and tea coffee is from a vending machine; I couldn't get black coffee, but its okay I guess, 3. the rooms and bathrooms are showing their age; not anything bad particularly because they are kept clean; minor issues here and there are however present (power socket near bed was not working, there are plenty in the room though). Overall it is a good budget hotel.

Enjoyed the stay!
“The rooms very well maintained and clean. The location of the hotel was feasible to commute to various tourist spots. The breakfast could be lot better than what was served. Well organised in spite of the room size being bit smaller.“

Very Poor Experience
“Entire experience was very poor. Cleanliness, Breakfast - Food Quality, Over Charging - They were charging me for 2 Days for a 5 Hr Stay (check-in @ 6 Hrs and checkout @ 11 Hrs on the same day). Later on after few Phone Calls from my side they have reduced it to One Day. Handling of Billing also not“ very professional.

Great Budget Hotel
“Was in Mlr on a business trip. Treebo was booked through my hotel desk. Pros : 1. Spacious rooms 2. Clean Washrooms 3. Staff is courteous and don't invade upon your privacy unnecessarily. 4. Breakfast is average but would add in Pros as they have excellent lemonade and serve eggs upon request. 5. L“ ocation is in the heart of the city. Cons: 1. Mattress is spring and can be uncomfortable for people with back problems. 2. There is no in house kitchen and evening snacks etc are not available. 3. Room service is provided through a tied up restaurant which serves very average food. Not sure of the hygiene as well.

Stay at Mangalore
“The stay was good, however I was asked to vacate the room at 12 noon saying the check out time is 11am. I had requested the receptionist that I will leave at 1330 hrs as I had a train at 1430 to Mumbai. As per Treebo policy if the rooms are vacant the hotel can extend the stay up to 1400 hrs. The ho“ tel rooms were vacant.

Clean comfortable stay
“I had booked at this hotel for the christmas weekend. The hotel has clean rooms with courteous staff. Check in and check out was super efficient. Breakfast was decent at the kerala restaurant in the same complex. The hotel situated a bit far away from the city centre and parking was a bit difficult.“ Overall a good place for an overnight stay but not ideal in location.

Good centrally located Hotel to stay at Mangalore
“Treebo's Pappilon Palace at Mangalore is a centrally located decent Hotel to stay. While you get decent hotels in other cities for less than 2K, in Mangalore which is by birthplace I always used to find it a big challenge to find a decent place to stay sub 2K price range. Now the Treebo app is the o“ nly app I depend on to book rooms. I should mention I had a big problem the first time I booked and stayed there, bcause I landed on their web page from another website and I was not aware that the room got booked only for 1 person instead of 2. Please check your booking bcause the booking will only show 1 room but NOT the number of people. The rates vary. Apart from this I had no other problems. The breakfast spread could be improved though. The room is very clean and neat. Everything works wonderfully . Thanks.

Not worth to consider this property
“We had to wait 20 minutes on the day we landed here. Because the counter staff left for home asking the security to keep guard. The room, bed, fresh room and breakfast are of average standard. Not worth for the tariff charged by the hotel. Even the invoice was for 3 days only though we paid for 4 d“ ays which we found after leaving in a hurry. Overall, the chain of properties( I will not call them as hotels considering the poor accommodation provided) are not worth for stay.

One hotel I came across which is not par to Treebo promise
“This hotel is a newly renovated commercial complex. Its situated in a rural place away from Mangalore. Starting with the check in, it was not smooth it took me about 15 mins to check in here. I had to climb stairs to reach my room in 2nd floor as there was no lift here. The rooms were small and deco“ rated with cheap quality curtains. We could here sound from the duck farm beside the hotel all the night. Shower worked only with cold water as the property claims all the rooms doesn't have pipeline connection to hot water and the best part they have instant electric geyser for hot water which is good enough to give bath only to babies, adults could only wash there face but can never consider taking bath with that because it serves cold water after 3 to 4 litre of hot water.

Terrible stay!
“The room was super dirty dusty filled with silver fish stained n used bedsheets linen. Torn linens, stained curtains torn towels. Shower was nt working thanks to limescale deposits, the bathroom hasnt been cleaned in atleast weeks or months. Mouldy corners, dirty shower curtains, no drinkin“ g watdr in the room. Hospitality services need to be trained into the staff, not just at reception staff. For everything you have to call n request them and takes ages to revert. Only advantage of the stay was its centrally located and one can park their car. Had stayed twice at same hotel, earlier feedback i thought would be implemented but sad to say the hotel has gone from sad to worse.....
