Kochi is ideally thought of as the starting point for surveying the profound beauty and diversity of the state of Kerala, and comes as no surprise that it is featured in NatGeo Traveler's '50 greatest places of a lifetime'. Kochi is a tourist-friendly city that remains impressively connected through various modes of transport. To the east lies Ernakulam, the quintessential citified district, replete with posh apartment complexes, well-built transport links and a flourishing container port that manages to stay busy all through the year. Lying to the west is Fort Kochi, which on the other hand, has its own history to unfurl. Boasting a relaxed ambiance hallmarked with narrow lanes and rustic infrastructure, Fort Kochi is a treat for history geeks. Kochi also has its share of business and I.T parks, contributing a great deal to the Indian economy. Luckily for business-travelers, business hotels in Kochi aren’t hard to trace. The best business hotels in Kochi have all strategically positioned themselves in close proximity to either the KINFRA Hi-tech Park in Kalamassery or the Infopark Smart Space in Kakkanad. Plenty of business hotels in Kochi offer business-related amenities such as free WiFi, have conference rooms/banquet halls, are conveniently accessible and facilitate speedy check-in and check-out processes. These hotels are highly likely to have an in-house restaurant serving the three main meals of the day. Business hotels may also come with a health-club facility (gym, spa or swimming pool) in order to make the guests feel rejuvenated post business meets/conferences. While business travelers primarily come to Kochi to transact business and leave, they are often left amazed by what the city has in store for the fun-seeking. Catch a late-night movie at one of the city’s many multiplexes, buy gifts for your loved ones at any of Kochi’s easily accessible malls (such as Lulu, Abad Nucleus, Prestige Forum or Centre Square), or arrange a business lunch/dinner at one of the star hotels such as Le Meridien, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn or Kochi Marriott.
