Kothaguda is situated in the Mulugu Constituency of Warangal district of Telangana in India. It has a lot of historical significance. Before Independence, the administrative unit of Narsampet was officially known as Pakhal Taluka because of its proximity to the area's lifeline - the Pakhal lake, largest lake in the region built by the Kakatiya rulers. Over the years the village has grown into a small town inhabited by around 30,000 people. A man-made lake was built in the year 1213 by the Kakatiya king, Ganapathideva, by harnessing a small tributary of the Krishna River. It is located 50 km from Warangal and spreads over an area of 30 km and makes for a pleasant day trip. One of the most popular attractions in this area is the Hyderabad Botanical Gardens situated in the Kothaguda Reserve Forest. Developed and maintained by the Forest Department, the Botanical Garden spreads over 120 acres and is situated in Madhapur which is almost 16 km away from centre of the city, thereby offering a refreshing experience away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The management also conducts natural camps for groups which offer a guided tour of the garden along with activities such as nature walks, bird watching, etc. There are also interactive sessions on the natural habitat and flora during these camps. Golconda fort is another nearby tourist place that you can visit from botanical gardens. Treebo has a plethora of budget hotels near Kothaguda to select from. Hotels near Kothaguda include the highly rated Tals Hytek, Fort Club and the Krrish Inn. JP Plaza and Hotel Strawberrys located a short distance away also come highly recommended. The Pratz Inn and Hotel Midtown are conveniently located and provide a good range of amenities, and are located close to the popular tourist spots. Kothaguda makes for a great trip, situated away a short distance away from the city and helps one reconnect with nature and refresh the mind, body and soul.
