This temple was constructed by a king from the Sangama dynasty, and the site is said to be chosen by sage Agasthya for Lord Venkateshwara. However, the idol had a chipped toenail which the sage did not want to install; hence he prayed to Lord Shiva, whom he requested to give the devotees Goddess Parvati as a single stone in the form of Lord Uma Maheshwara. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Temple sees a huge celebration of Maha Shivratri, where devotees flock to pray. The Nandi, which is said to be growing in size, is one of the main attractions.
