These caves show the Buddhist influence in India in glorious light. The Kanheri Caves in ancient times were not just for show but were lived in by students and monks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have never been, you must go. No spoilers here but prepare to pick your jaw off the ground. Under the swaying coconut palms, Uttan\u2019s gorgeous beaches and salty air soothes you deep down to your weary bones. Being principally a fishing town, it\u2019s a veritable seafood paradise with fish fresh off the boat cooked in traditional styles taking you back to simpler things and times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walk around in the sunshine, spot the lighthouse, and then step into Our Lady of Vailankanni Shrine for some peace and quiet. Or go a little further down to the Water Kingdom or Essel World for some splashes and screaming.
