Travel is the best medicine – is the new mantra for the restless soul. The travel and tourism industry around the world is beaming in fresh spirits. People want to explore new places and have beautiful memories. Luggage should not be a burden or an obstruction as we are leaving the daily turmoil behind and spreading our wings to fly and get lost. Don’t worry, we have just the travel packing checklist for you!
Here are a few travel packing must-haves in a nutshell. Bon voyage!
Travel documents and local sim
Carry all the essential travel documents while travelling you’re your Passport, your Visa, the Air tickets, Travel Insurance, details of the hotels that you have booked with your address and so on. Keep a tab on the local address of your country’s travel embassy as well. A local sim card will absolutely ease half your troubles away!
Wheeled Suitcase/Backpack/Duffel Bag
If you’re planning to hike or walk over rough surfaces, consider a wheeled backpack or duffel bag so you can pick it up and carry it as necessary. You’ll need something to carry maps, snacks, bottled water, camera, mobile phone, guidebook, make-up and travel documents around town as you while you explore.
Carry lightweight and comfortable clothing. Even limiting one’s self to a single pair of jeans, while extreme, is entirely possible. Innerwear, of course, is an exception to this rule. You are also supposed to carry at least two comfortable shoes which are durable too. Know the weather of the country or place you are visiting and carry appropriate and durable clothes.
Personal Toiletries/ Medication/ Glasses
Most hotels give you free toiletries or you can buy the same locally unless you have specific skin allergies. Carry a small carry-on pouch with your toothbrush, paste, soap, sunscreen/moisturizer, shaving kit, perfume/deodorant, tissue papers, face wash and sanitary napkins. Bring your medications in their original prescription bottles. You can have few pain killers handy.
Camera/Laptop/I pod/X BoX/PSP
Unless you make your living using a professional camera, you don’t need a big fancy piece of equipment. Pocket digital cameras are very affordable, portable and take great pictures. Unless you are on a working trip, leave your laptop at home — you’ll love how freeing it feels to not be tethered to a screen. You can carry a small Ipod for music, kindle for books or a tab for games and to access the internet or simply carry your mobile phone with a working data plan and a power bank to do all of the above functions.
