#1 Rhododendron Trek, West Sikkim
How about heading to the Himalayas and do a trek through rhododendron forests? The flowers are in their full glory from March to May, so go to Sikkim. It is ideally an 8-day trek and can be done in several ways. The route we like is this:
Bagdogra to Sombarey –> Drive for 6.5 hours; Sombarey to Hilley –> Short Drive; Hilley To Barsey –> 3 hours trek through bamboo and rhododendron forest; Barsey to Jorebotey –> 7 hours trek through paths covered with ink and red rhododendrons, also catch your first glimpse of Mt Kanchenjunga; Jorebotey to Thulo Dhap–> 5 hours trek; Thulo Dhap to Chittarey –> The final steep climb to the ridge of the sanctuary, will take 6.5 hours; Chittarey to Uttarey –> The descent. Trek for 4 hours to reach the pretty village.
#2 Zorbing and Paragliding, Solang
Just 14 km from Manali on the Manali- Rohtang Pass road, lies Solang Valley, which is a hotspot for adventure lovers visiting the resort town of Manali. Paragliding and zorbing are popular sports here. ATV rides, trekking, parachuting and skiing in winter are other activities here.
